Romans 1:1-16

I have started reading Romans!

I am going to go through it slowly, from beginning to end

Today I have read Romans 1:1-16

This scripture serves as an introduction to the book of Romans, which is basically Paul writing to the Christinas in Rome in his capacity as an apostle.

He speaks of people being "called" to Jesus

And he says that they are in his prayers

He says that he wants to preach the gospel in Rome, but is not able to so is writing to them instead.

So, basically, in Romans he is going to preach. About Jesus. But his audience is the church in Rome - gentiles who have become Christians.

If we are to understand it at all we must view it in that light.
