Scripture of the Day: 35
New American Standard Bible
And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and people.
So, according to this Jesus Christ increased in wisdom
According to this, throughout his life he got progressively wiser, as he grew and matured
At one point he was wise to one extent, and then at a later point he was wise to an even greater extent
Which is what happens to humans, not to God
God is omniscient and is infinitely wise, hence he cannot increase in wisdom
So this shows that in his incarnation, Jesus Christ had the mental limitations of a human
An outstanding human, yes. But a human nonetheless
This scripture gives us an insight into the nature of the hypostatic union
And what about "and in favour with God"???
Perhaps this means that God (The Father) felt increasingly proud of him and his works and ministry?
