Scripture of The Day: 26

Matthew 28:16-20

New American Standard Bible

The Great Commission

16 But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated to them. 17 And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. 18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

So, he claims to have ALL the authority of God The Father, to be co-equal to him

He also claims that he will be omniscient by saying he will be "with you always" to his disciples

He also instructed them to focus their efforts on converting "all the nations" by which he meant the entire non-Jewish world

He basically says that he wants the entire non-Jewish world to be Christian (by being baptised in the name of The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit)

My reading of this scripture is that it says that God wants the whole world to be Christian - but seemingly not the Jews

So, basically he claims to be God and instructs his core followers to win over the whole wide world for him, but he doesn't mention the Jews

He is either a grandiose megalomaniac or the actual Son of God, there is no middle ground
